King Khan & The Shrines

king-khan_the-shrines.jpgKing Khan was born in 1977 in Montreal as a son of Indian immigrants. The hinduistic home, the predominantly Christian Canada and his mothers and grandmothers affinity with occultism molded his attitude between Voodoo Spirituals and cult of Brahman, between Indian mythology and hallucinogen transendence. In 1995, Khan leaves the frosty ground of the canadian province Motntreal as bassist of the US-underground-legend SPACESHIT and forms some years later in Germany the Soul Big Band THE SHRINES. His music is like a time travel to the sixties:King Khan’s clinking and clanging “psychedelic rythm’n'blues” is a multicoloured dazzling homage to the rock-decade. They create psychedelic guitar-sounds like Keith, Lou and Iggy and stoic and unequivocal tones.
